SOLO, A(NOTHER) STAR WARS STORY

Is it any good? I have to say when your expectations are low you can sometimes be pleasantly surprised.

So without raising YOUR expectations I can tell you that the story, acting and action all make sense and drive the franchise on, even though we are probably being over-exposed to the whole thing by Disney.

Woody Harrelson totally out-plays the rest of the cast, including Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, who is also out-acted by a robot, L3, who is reminiscent of C3PO, and Han himself who is a relative unknown portraying the young Han with more or less most of Harrison’s “Buster Crabbe” persona.

Look out for lots of references to the original Star Wars films as well as many of the same elements like weird aliens, cantina bar scenes, evil warlords, robot malfunctions and hologram chess.

We meet Chewie and Lando for the first time, stormtroopersand I’m glad to say we are not inundated with funny bits, but there are a few, as well as times for reflection.

So buckle up and get ready to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, it’s not a bad Star Wars installment at all, despite the franchise fatigue.
