SAGE REPORTS NETWORK LOCATION

If you are using Sage Line 50 accounts on a network, you have to tick a box under Settings, Company Preferences, Reporting to Use Data Path with Reports in order to save your reports on the Company.000 folder, instead of your local one. You will need to move any custom reports you have already made MANUALLY as well.

Sage support, which we pay for, did not seem to know this and I took a little bit of Googling to find out.

CALORIES IN, CALORIES OUT – WRONG!

Any dietary advice you are given that references calories in/calories out as a weight loss method should be immediately ignored because the data supporting this theory is from just ONE study involving 12 PEOPLE. Coca Cola and many other food producers base their entire culture on recommending that you can enjoy their products as long as you watch your calories in/calories out, usually their adverts contain sporty scenarios showing how fit people can chug away on sugary drinks and snacks with impunity.

But, we already know from shows like America’s Biggest Loser all the sad, tragic tales of contestants putting the weight back on in the following weeks because this idea is basically wrong. Hormones play a much bigger part in weight gain/loss than calorie counting, which is why puberty (i.e. hormones) adds so much fat and muscle to kids growing up, why gastric bypasses work, why insulin (a hormone) resistance is such a massive problem worldwide, why there are 1.5 billion overweight people in the world eating the recommended high carbohydrate diet.

AN IMPORTANT HEALTH PROCESS YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT

Autophagy (Orr-toff-agee) is a process in all of us whereby the body collects “debris” left over from cellular death (apoptosis) and various chemical reactions, and recycles the material or dumps it to waste.

It is known that the older you get the less efficient it becomes, especially if you are overweight and it’s really easy to see why. Your body turns on autophagy in order to reclaim materials it can re-use but it only really goes into hyper mode in times of famine or fasting, it seems humans are not meant to be full all the time.

Fasting could mean not eating from 8pm on one day until 11am on the next, i. e. skipping breakfast altogether. Unfortunately, with a supermarket on every corner, we never get to that stage and so inevitably we run the risk of not clearing up the debris as it builds up inside.

Diseases of autophagy inefficiency might include; alzheimers, other forms of dementia, inflammation, infections, cancer, neurodegeneration, aging and heart disease.

Consumers of high sugar/starch diets may require 2 weeks of fasting to enter autophagy, ketogenic or low starch diets may only require 2 days, keto and low starch being our natural “winter” diet, which we would have experienced every year in our distant past.
